Summary: This quantitative study looked at large scale data for the state of New York. They found that contrary to previous trends, those entering teaching from 1999 - 2010 had higher SAT scores than in previous years. They also found an increase in the amount of minorities pursuing teaching as a profession. The results are promising and the researchers are suggesting that the status of teaching as a profession as compared to an occupation may be improving.
